Never forget the things you do that shape who you are. Never give them up. Never grow up…completely. Keep Sliding.

Designing snowboards was the ultimate childhood dream come true for me. I think the only one drop every year made them seem a little more special than any other product. I remember designing my first one around 2009 and spending probably 100 hours on it, stressing over every detail.
Around 2012 Romain DeMarchi had reached out to me to help with one of the boards for the at the time new YES. snowboards. I was beyond hyped. At the following SIA tradeshow I met Alex Warburton and the rest was history. I was their Art Director/Designer for about 4 seasons and I will always be apart of the YES family.
Here is some of the boards, catalaogs and campaigns that we made.
Co Founder & Creative Director
The story of GoldCoast skateboards starts back in 2009 when Brock Harris and Dustin Ortiz, alongside partners Nate Coan and Chris Brunstetter, started scheming to create a line of skateboards, which today has morphed into the timeless, clean designs that have become synonymous with the brand. Ortiz, who works out of Encinitas, California, and Harris, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, came together with a shared passion for skateboarding to build a solid brand that reflects the Southern California and Mountain culture.

Client: The Mattson 2
Scope: Art Direction & Design
Mattson 2 is a jazz/rock duo.
Jonathan and Jared Mattson have been long time friends, we've known each other since we were in our youth. Over the years I've had a great pleasure to work with them on various different projects.
If you could soundtrack the jangle of the sea and the jazz of the surf, The Mattson 2 would most certainly be the composers. The identical twin guitar and drums duo are truly a marvel of jazz-rock orchestration and arrangement. The duo shimmers and shakes with the soaring modern wizardry of Jared Mattson's untamed, layered guitars and Jonathan Mattson's tribal jazz hard- bop drumming. They channel the gorgeously hypnotic gods of surf, sun, and neon-punk-jazz of our modern universe, evoking evolved realms of experimentalism, rhythm, and story. The identical twin’s deep telepathic kinship navigates colorful forms of beautiful weirdness and exotic landscapes of layered improvisation, transcending the concept of modern musical performance.
They've always given me freedom with their show posters and it's been great working on them. This is just a selection of flyers and design's that I've worked on in the last couple of years.

This was one of those dream projects that we have almost complete freedom to do what we wanted. Rob Mathis had approached me I think in about 2014 about an idea he had. At the time Park City Mountain Resort was using their same marketing strategy for skiing and families and snowboarding. In snowboard magazines it stuck out like a sore thumb and made no sense. We wanted to change that.
Rob set up a dream team with the help of the marketing director at Park City Jeremey Cooper. Rob was in charge of all photography, I was the Art Director and Designer and Pat Fenelon would be creating all the videos.
The push was called I Ride Park City, and the main focus was to show who was actually riding Park City and what it looked like. The personalities and the details of the park were never shown before.
We changed Park City Mountain Resort to a place no snowboarders ever wanted to go to, to one of the premiere snowboard destinations for park riding.
Here is a snapshot of four seasons of work we created for the Park City Mountain Resort.
I worked in house at Nixon from 2005-2008 as the Senior Designer. This experience laid the foundation for me and really set me in the direction that I’m heading today. I was able to work in various departments and to understand the whole process about working for a brand that understood who they are and who their consumers are. Learning from industry veterans like Andy Laats, Chad DiNenna, Matt Capozzi, Peter McBride, Todd Finney, Eric Crane, Michael Carter and many more talented individuals.
Here was the last campaign that I worked on with the rest of the design team. At the time these were like no other print ads in the market and the images are still strong brand pieces for Nixon today.

A good friend and long-time studio mate Pete Panciera started Norden in 2015 alongside his wife. They make beautiful ceramic candles and other home goods that bring warmth and comfort to your living area. Every so often I get to help out and shoot some photos and give my two cents on future products, scents and packaging.
Client: Scavengers Beer Adventures
Scavengers Beer Adventures have combined all our favorite activities (fun & craft beer) into an all-inclusive beer adventure. Ride along in a vintage 1973 Swiss Military Safari Jeeps around our sunny coast. Sample tasty IPA's, Farmhouse Ales, Lagers, Porters, and Stouts at some of San Diego's groovy breweries.
If you are looking to have a great time with friends, family, or work buddies remember... no one does a beer tour like Scavengers!
I was stoked when the owner Adam hall enlisted me to help with the branding. We were both really inspired by old Egyptian hieroglyphics and started to sketch variations of traditional Scavengers. The vulture is where we ended up and every since then it's been fun helping him with his design needs.
Client: Arkade Magazine
Arkade Magazine has been documenting Utah snowboarding since 2005. They make the hustle ever year to produce a free printed magazine keeping it alive and I support that 100%.
For the 2015 season, their 10 year anniversary, they approached me to update their masthead and create something special. They even let me layout a couple of their feature articles throughout the season.
